Roof Cost Calculator in Chickasha, OK
Explore an architectural-asphalt planning budget using known roof surface area or a roof footprint and pitch.
Roof Cost Calculator Explained
A planning budget is useful when the measurement and work assumptions are clear. The example below starts with 2,000 square feet of known roof surface. You can keep that example or enter an area you already know.
For a roof footprint, pitch changes the actual surface area. Total living space is different from both. The calculator handles the slope conversion and flags unsuitable low slopes for asphalt shingles. A free roof inspection and measured project scope are the next step when you are ready to discuss the work.

Calculate a Roof Planning Budget
Use the controls to explore the stated architectural-asphalt range. Changing the area type affects the calculation; pitch also checks whether asphalt is suitable.
Keep the 2,000 sq. ft. example, or enter an area you already know. Roof footprint means the area covered, not total living space. This model supports 1,500 to 3,000 square feet of measured roof surface.
Keep the 6:12 example unless you already know the pitch. Pitch helps check material suitability.

Architectural asphalt planning range with one existing layer removed, ordinary access, moderate complexity and usable decking. Hidden wood, extra layers and other trades are separate.

What this roof budget includes
The example uses Oklahoma / Oklahoma City area architectural-asphalt research checked October 27, 2026. It supports 1,500 to 3,000 square feet of measured roof surface. A footprint is adjusted for pitch before the same surface limits apply.
One existing roof layer, ordinary access, moderate complexity and usable decking are assumed. Damaged wood, additional layers, structural work, gutters and other trades need separate pricing. The figure is a planning range, not a project quote.
Known roof surface area is used directly. For a footprint, the calculator adds surface area from pitch. Living space is not a roof measurement. Asphalt shingles require at least a 2:12 pitch; low-slope sections need a suitable separate roofing system.
What the Roof Budget Leaves Separate
The number is only useful with its included work. These separate items can materially change a roof budget.
- Hidden wood and additional layers
Usable decking and one existing layer are assumed. Damaged sheathing, additional removal or structural work needs separate pricing.
- Other roof systems and trades
Metal, low-slope membranes and coatings need their own system-specific pricing. Gutters, skylight units, masonry, siding and interior finishes are separate unless the project expressly includes them.
- Size and complexity limits
The regional roof-size examples and calculator cover 1,500 to 3,000 measured roof-surface square feet. A footprint is adjusted for pitch before the same surface limits apply. Unusual access, steep sections and complex intersections can change the project price.
Roof Calculator FAQs
Should I enter the square footage of my house?
Only if you know it represents the roof footprint or the actual roof surface. A two-story house can have much more living area than roof footprint; garages and overhangs can add roof area outside the living space.
Why does a low pitch stop the shingle calculation?
Asphalt shingles need a pitch of at least 2:12. A flatter section requires a suitable roof system and separate detailing. Discuss it through our commercial and low-slope roofing guidance or Contact.
Does the result price my roof?
It gives a regional planning example for the conditions shown. The measured roof, material, access and agreed work determine a project quote.
Can I get a repair budget from this tool?
The rates are for architectural-asphalt replacement, so they should not be applied to a small repair. The roof repair page explains the scope factors behind repair pricing.
